United Nations Population Fund in Uzbekistan

The informational brochure gives a comprehensive overview of UN Population Fund’s work in Uzbekistan. Along with a general description of UNFPA's goals and programmes, and its activities in Uzbekistan, it includes some basic financial data. Special highlights are the mapped examples of UNFPA's work in the country, stories of success in the variety of initiatives that we undertake, as well as guiding principles of ICPD Programme of Action.  

Y-PEER Uzbekistan News Bulletin, Issue #1 (Jan-March 2012)

First issue of the News Bulletin of Y-PEER Network in Uzbekistan, in Russian language. The Bulletin covers activities and initiatives of Y-PEER volunteers that took place during January-March 2012. It also gives highlights of some future plans, such as upcoming training activities, celebration of youth-related onservances and others.

Internship Opportunities

UNFPA welcomes interns at both country office and headquarters levels. Internships with UNFPA offer university students, students in a similar educational programme or university graduates the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to the work of UNFPA. It is intended to complement primarily development-oriented studies or studies in related fields with practical experience. By working under the supervision of a UNFPA staff member, interns may gain a more profound understanding of United Nations development assistance, especially in the field of population and development, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and in advocacy.

Special Youth Programme Fellowship

Another exciting opportunity for young people is UNFPA’s Special Youth Programme Fellowship. This programme is designed to give young people from developing countries opportunities to engage in policy development and programming, to help build the capacity of young people and to sensitize both the young people and UNFPA staff on partnering to address adolescents and youth issues.

The programme consists of an initial 4.5 months fellowship at UNFPA Headquarters, New York, followed — upon satisfactory performance — by a continued fellowship of another 4.5 months in the UNFPA Regional Office or Country Office in the region/country of the fellow.

Announcements for the Programme are made annually, through UNFPA Employment section, as well as through various youth organizations and networks worldwide, including Y-PEER
